Next train?
The train you have been waiting all your life may not stop at your station; the best thing … is to give a chance to the next train.
(Mehmet Murat ildan)

Rejected! How can you be passed over again? You’ve worked so hard! It should be your turn. How can this be? Promotions, even wishes don’t seem to come by your way, no matter how hard you try.

It is difficult to accept it right now, but believe me, something better may just be right around the corner.  If you’re at a bus interchange or train station, other busses or trains are bound to come by.  They may not be what you’re waiting for right now, but if you wait patiently, your choice may change because circumstances always change or the routes of these busses or trains will change.  The one you’re looking for, will come by soon.

More importantly, take your waiting time to develop yourself further.  You may outgrow what you’re waiting for, so that when a better opportunity comes by, you’re ready.

Don’t waste your waiting time,  complaining and lamenting about your life circumstances.  They will not help you get anywhere.  Instead, learn to be happy and constructive with what you have.  Don’t grow bitter through the waiting.  Winters pass and spring will come again, as long as you’re alive.

If you’re suffering and hurting from being rejected, even then this will pass with time.  Your pain will feel different soon. Don’t feed it. Whatever you feed in your heart, will take residence there.

Negative emotions are destructive.  So pause, stop. If you need to cry, let it out.  Go to the sea and shout it out. Apparently, the salt in the sea water has healing qualities. Let it all out!  Don’t let the frustration fester in your body.  Just resolve to get over the hurt. That’s half the battle already.  Life is for living.  Do something for someone worse-off than you.  That helps to heal your own wound. Don’t start a pity party or you will feel worst.

There is a true story of a king in Israel called King David.  He was a young shepherd who took care of his father’s sheep. He was of small stature compared to his handsome brothers, and was often overlooked by even his own family. He was not even considered good enough to join the king’s army.

One day, a prophet named Samuel was told by God to anoint a king in his family. His father, Jesse, presented his brothers to Samuel and even left him out, until Samuel asked if those were all of Jesse’s sons. Samuel was told there was one other.  David was called and the Lord confirmed to Samuel that he was the one.

But it took another 14 years before he was made king.  During the waiting, he served the presiding king and built up his experience fighting for his nation.  He was the boy who killed Goliath, with his one sling and five stones.

He had been fighting lions and bears in the wild, protecting his sheep, with just his sling and stones.  That prepared him well when he fought Goliath, the giant.

Your train may not arrive yet. Even if it does come, are you prepared for it? No regrets, just enjoy the waiting.  Something good will come along.  Just believe!

Three Feet from Gold

During the gold rush, a man who had been mining in Colorado for several months quit his job, as he hadn’t struck gold yet and the work was becoming tiresome.  He sold his equipment to another man who resumed mining where it had been left off.

The new miner was advised by his engineer that there was gold only three feet away from where the first miner stopped digging.  The engineer was right, which means the first miner was a mere three feet away from striking gold before he quit.
